Pet Photos by Olin is a delightfully modern and fun luxury pet photography studio seeking authentic moments, fun, and epic dog licks. We specialize in creating beautiful lighthearted, spur of the moment, stylish portraits in our studio, and on location. Serving Sacramento, Napa, Sonoma, San Francisco, and beyond.
We always start with a phone consultation to get to know you and your pet better. During the call we’ll go over what you envision for your pet portraits. We’ll also determine what session type best matches your style and pet’s temperament. During the call, we can finalize all the details for your shoot! Once you book, we will send you a contract and more tips to help prepare for your photoshoot. Then we just wait excitedly for your session!
We'll meet either at my light-filled luxury studio or at a location we've discussed in advance and the real fun begins.
Expect lots of playing with your pet. The more hijinks and shenanigans, the better. In fact, pet parents may even have more fun than the fur kids and that's okay too!
Next, we will meet at our studio for a 1 hour reveal session where you’ll get to view all your images! We’ll go through all your images together and choose your favorites! This is everyone’s favorite part. We’ll supply concierge level service with a personal touch to help you choose the perfect products to display as art in your home.
"Caroline, you are so extraordinarily talented! I left our session wondering if there was any way you could have gotten one single decent shot, and worried that we had completely wasted your time. With an anxious dog and antsy four year old, it was a challenge. Despite all that the photos you captured are just breathtaking and they convey such a sweetness. It's like... somehow you could see through our clutter of that day. These photos will be very treasured by our family for years and decades to come. With thanks -- and much respect for your talent--"

“Everyone is amazing! Our pup can sometimes give the "I'm over this face", but somehow they got her cute face to come out. Highly recommend them for pet photos and family photos. Our Christmas card is a family picture they took. Love them!”
“We love our photos of our old dog. Caroline did a fantastic job capturing her personality. I highly recommend Caroline for photos of your pet or any other moments in life. Thank you Caroline!!!!!” - Lindsey

Hi, I am Caroline. My good friends call me Olin and I have always loved animals. I remember my first cat and dog as a little girl. From then on I was obsessed, my father even told me to stop bringing animals home with me!
After graduating with a Fine Art degree, Milou, a black Portuguese Water Dog entered my life and forever changed me. She taught me so much about dogs. Together, we embarked on a life filled with dogs and dog sports. She was the reason I began photographing pets.
To me, there is no other bond quite like the one we share with our pets. I am passionate about capturing the relationship between you and your pet. I am focused on highlighting pets of all breeds, color, shapes, sizes, and ages. I love it when I can show their authentic personality in images. Telling your pet’s story through art is what I aim to do.
Our beautiful, light-filled studio is located in downtown Sacramento. We have a plethora of toys and sets for our pet sessions. Remember this is a new setting for them, so it may take a moment to get your pet to settle and feel comfortable. If a studio session is ever proving too stressful for your pet, we will stop and reschedule for an outdoor or home session.
Outdoor sessions allow us to capture images of your animal in a natural setting. If you have a favorite spot to explore and play with your pet it can be a less stressful option for your animal. It’s best to make sure it is not a busy spot that will be distracting for both you and your pet. I always have water available during outdoor pet sessions.
If your animal is small or tends to be nervous, a home session may be the best option for you and your favorite creature. In-Home sessions are typically the best choice for cats and for small animals.
The most important thing is that we talk and plan your session. Don't get frustrated if on the day of your session things don't go exactly as planned. they almost always don't. That being said, if we all stay relaxed we'll have a fun and relaxed session. My primary focus is the comfort and ease of your pet. We take breaks to ensure time for belly rubs and changing your pet's focus if needed. I shoot in a very relaxed manner to ensure that you and your pet have a great time. My background as a dog trainer serves to adequately and skillfully work with any type of dog personality.
Typically. most are a bit nervous in the beginning of the session but will settle down if everyone stays calm. We can get some great shots of them jumping and running around outside or cuddling with you if we are shooting in my studio. If it's just not working out. we may just arrange to come and shoot at your home where they will feel less stressed.
Approximately 2 weeks after your photo session. we invite you back to our Sacramento studio for your design session where you will be able to view all your images and make all your purchases. We will also be guiding and assisting you in choosing your images for prints, albums and wall art as well as designing your wall galleries with you. This is the best part of the whole process. Because the design session is the only time to make your purchase, we ask that all decision makers be present.
