MEET OLIN
Hi, I am Caroline. My good friends call me Olin and I have always loved animals. I remember my first cat and dog as a little girl. From then on I was in love. My father told me to stop bringing animals home with me.
In 2000, after I graduated with a degree in Fine Arts, Milou, a black Portuguese Water Dog entered my life and forever changed me. She taught me so much about dogs. Together, we embarked on a life filled with dogs and dog sports. She was the reason I photographed dogs.
To me there is no other bond quite like the one we share with our pets and that is the bond I want to document for you. I am passionate about capturing the relationship between you and your pet. I am focused on highlighting dogs of all breeds, color, shapes, sizes and ages. I love it when I can show their true personality in an authentic way.
I am honored to have the opportunity to photograph your pets. I want to create a beautiful testament of your love that will adorn the walls of your home.
I capture a little bit of life in each photo, and telling your pet's story through art is what I aim to do. I am dedicated to capturing the essence of your pet. I believes in an authentic connection with all my clients and strive to highlight the special tender and loving moments whether it is in my studio, on location or in action.
My classical art training fuels my fine art aesthetics in my photography. My pet photography work is modern, editorial and refined. My vision is to photograph all pets as if they're in Vanity Fair Magazine. My work is naturally suited to be displayed as wall hangings as part of your decor or as heirloom quality photo albums that will last for years to come.
I live in Sacramento with my own family, complete with 2 human kids, and 4 fur kids. Mayhem a Portuguese Water Dog, Malice a Border Collie, Meatball a Lowchen and Tito Mojito, a chihuahua cross breed with the most awesome teeth. The kids and dogs are frequently forced into modeling for me (thankfully, they all work for treats).

I started my photography career photographing dogs in 2004 when Milou, started competing in agility. I remember my very first trial in Palo Alto, She received 3 first places that day and I fell in love with photographing dogs competing and doing their best. I'll never forget the intensity in their eyes. Since then I have photographed dogs for ESPN, the American Kennel Club, United States Dog Agility Association and countless other dog clients, clubs and publications such as Clean Run Magazine and Bark. I have traveled across the states and photographed hundreds of competitions and thousands of dogs. I try to always remember their names (no promises on the owners).
Milou went on to attain multiple performance titles and agility championships. Together, we were a team and running her in agility is one of the biggest thrill in my life. I cried when it was announced that she was the #1 Agility Portuguese Water Dog in America. I was blessed with the best dog ever, and after Milou, I was blessed even more with more of my very own dogs and other dogs I fostered.
My background in performance dog sports as a trainer and handler lends itself to my work as a pet and dog photographer. I know dogs, I love dogs, I breathe dogs. I know how to work with your dogs and make them feel loved and comfortable. From timid dogs, to rambunctious ones and even fearful dogs or resource guarders, I understand dogs. In fact, I read dogs better than I read people.
I went on to photograph people as well as dogs. I documented weddings and photographed boudoir and family portraits. I was awarded Rangefinder Magazine's Top 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography and Junebug's Top 30 Engagement Photographer. I have been blessed to be featured in multiple publications and websites such as Huffington Post, The Knot, Brides, Martha Stewart, Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, The New York Times and many more.
Now I am returning to my original love: dogs and I am grateful for all the pets I have the honor of photographing.

My pet photography work is all about personality: modern, fresh, fun and inspired by my subjects itself. My style is delightfully modern, clean, artistic and editorial, mixed with story-telling in portrait form, all with my personal minimal hand editing and retouching to my aesthetic and high quality standards. I believe in timeless hand printed photographs, large photographic canvases and hand made albums that are of the highest quality and archival. What I create is a visual vignette or story of your life that becomes a once in a lifetime cherished piece of art.

Olin is available weekdays and select weekends for pet photography sessions in Sacramento, Napa, Sonoma and San Francisco unless she is traveling to photograph weddings internationally.
